Arar is a seasoned finance and operations leader with over 16 years of experience at HSBC. Currently serving as the Finance Director of Bank Operations since January 2023. Arar oversees FP&A, operations costs, and resources, ensuring transparency in unit costs and aligning business strategy with operational plans. His role also includes supporting the delivery of a multi-year transformation program. Before this, Arar was the Financial Director for HSBC’s Finance on the Cloud program, where he spearheaded the deployment of a multi-year cloud initiative and optimized cloud consumption costs. Arar also held the COO of Transformation for Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) position. In this role, he managed end-to-end changes in products, propositions, and regulatory compliance, overseeing a team of 1000 people globally and managing a $200 million budget. His strategic initiatives significantly improved cost efficiency and resource allocation across WPB. Arar is recognized for his expertise in analytical skills, business case modeling, operations management, and cost management. He consistently drives efficiency and strategic alignment in complex financial environments.
