Amit Singhi is the Chief Financial Officer of Humanetics, a hi-tech global industrial technology group that engineers extraordinary safety, digital and sensor solutions for critical environments to put humans at the heart of industrial design. Previously Amit has worked at Piston Group, FLIR Systems, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors, in a variety of finance and engineering roles. Amit is on the board of Quanex (NYSE: NX) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan. He is an executive-in-residence and a guest speaker at University of Michigan and several international CFO conferences, as well as a podcast contributor for CFOThoughtLeader. He was also the recipient of the APACC ā€œSalute to Excellenceā€ Award for Business Leadership in 2018. Mr. Singhi holds an MBA in Finance and Corporate Strategy and an MS in Electrical Engineering Systems from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Operator, steward, catalyst, strategist: The evolving role of the modern CFO
Today's CFO needs to manage multiple priorities and drive various initiatives. Managing functional as well as company objectives, and in some cases additional functions like IT.Ā Ā  A CFO is not only running the finance function and ensuring compliance, but is also helping shape overall company strategy and driving performance.Ā  Amit will discuss and elaborate on the various roles of a CFO - from the traditional roles of an Operator and Steward to the more recent roles of a Catalyst and Strategist.Ā He will provide perspectives and examples of the evolving roles - as an Operator, running the finance function; as a Steward, ensuring compliance and control; as a Catalyst, driving business performance; and as a Strategist, helping shape the overall company strategy.
